First check that the plugin runs

In Claude Code, open /hooks. The maisecrets hooks must be listed. In Codex, open /hooks and trust the maisecrets entries once. A client that rejects a plugin manifest loads no hook and shows no error.

python3 -m maisecrets.cli status shows the active vault, its path and the configuration.

A wrong detection

Every block and every redaction leaves an event without the value. In Claude Code, run:

/maisecrets:report last <why it is wrong>

The command opens a prefilled GitHub issue. Describe the shape of the value in words. Do not paste the value.

A bug or a feature request

/maisecrets:report bug <what happened>
/maisecrets:report feature <what it should do>

Or open an issue directly in the GitHub repository.

A security weakness

Do not open a public issue for a weakness that lets a value leave the machine. Follow the security policy in the repository.
